Is the phone number for your dental practice memorable?
Numbers don’t stick in our minds the way images do; maybe this is why letters are included on the keypads of telephones. These letters can help turn an easy-to-forget phone number into a hard-to-forget word.
What’s your number? If it spells your name, your practice’s name, or a word that signifies your specialty or a benefit of your service (like 1-800-MYSMILE), you have already discovered one of the easiest and most effective ways to market your practice and increase your patient base.
If you are looking to create a more memorable phone number for your practice, it helps to know that your word or phrase choice does not have to include the entire 7 digits (or 10 digits, in the case of a toll-free number). Additionally, you can extend the number by one digit, adding an extra letter to your phrase. Callers will still be connected to your number, even when dialing that extra digit.
Here are some examples of creative phone number configurations:
1-8PROUD-BITE
1-88-TOOTH-LINE
1-800-BRACES-4-U
If you don’t want to change your phone number or add a toll-free number, you can still try to spell something with your current phone number. Try www.PhoneSpell.org or www.phoNETic.com for help.
